colors, materials, finishes

As the CMF lead across multiple furniture and nursery brands, I was responsible for defining material, color, and finish direction while building the systems required to bring those visions to market at scale. My role spanned sourcing and qualifying new materials, fabrics, wood species, metals, finishes, and manufacturing processes, while partnering closely with suppliers and factories to ensure performance, quality, and consistency.
Beyond maintaining existing material libraries, I drove innovation through the exploration of emerging materials and techniques; from woven textiles and natural fibers to specialty finishes, tufting, and decorative surfaces; translating trend insights into commercially viable product opportunities.

One of the most impactful initiatives was the development of the White Driftwood finish, created to fill a gap for a light, weathered wood aesthetic. Achieving the desired appearance required extensive experimentation, process development, and factory collaboration to establish repeatable standards across multiple manufacturing partners. The resulting finish became a key brand asset and demonstrated how CMF innovation can create both emotional resonance and operational scalability.

Another defining project were collaborations with incredible brands such as luxury footwear designer Sarah Flint, Sister Parish Design, or the legendary Morris and Co., teaming with brand leadership to translate signature patterns into furniture applications. Through the development of new textiles, patterns, and material combinations, the collection supported traditional motifs such as ginghams, stripes, and plaids into the brand portfolio, expanding the visual language of the product line and opening new opportunities within a more heritage-inspired design space.
